Tom Hare: Establishing Kingdom Beacheads: Target Areas, Resources & Church Plant Models
This session will touch on the biblical rationale of Kingdom expansion through church planting. This is not a "one size fits all approach" to church planting, but rather will consider the main elements involved in considering where, what kind and how to go about establishing a Kingdom beachead based on the target area, the planter and/or team gift profile(s), the resources available and the kinds of models possible, with pros and cons considered. Particular emphasis in this session will be on launching a church plant from a small group or home church base.
Currently Tom serves Bishop Roger Ames and the ADGL as Canon Missioner for Church-Planting & Church Development (Health and Growth). He and his family are members of St. Luke’s Church (Akron). Tom has served in vocational ministry since 1969 as a campus minister, overseas missionary, church planter and pastor, as well as on numerous boards over the years. He is currently the Executive Director of HarvestNet Ministries - a regional city-reaching ministry committed to spiritual awakening, evangelism and transformation in NE Ohio. [HarvestNet includes the HarvestNet Leadership Group, the All Schools Assembly Program (ASAP) outreach to area public, the NEO Leadership Prayer Gatherings, The Jewish-Evangelical Dialogue and HarvestNet Institute.] Tom also serves as a founding board member of NEO360, a cross-denominational church-planting movement in NE Ohio. Tom’s greatest loves are the Lord Jesus, his wife, Rachel, and his children who “make his father’s heart glad.” |
